Text dot or emoji?
Text dots (● ⬤) take the color and size of the surrounding text, so they look right in any color scheme. Emoji (⚫ 🔴) are pictures drawn by the phone's emoji font: they're always the same color and are slightly bigger than text.
How to type them
In Word: 25CF then Alt + X for ●, 2B24 then Alt + X for ⬤. In HTML: ● and ⬤. Everywhere else, copy them from this page.

What is the biggest dot symbol?
⬤ (U+2B24, black large circle) is the largest solid dot in normal text.
Why is ⬤ small on my phone?
Some phone fonts draw it smaller. Try ⚫ (emoji), which is always large.
Can I make ● bigger?
Only by changing the font size where you paste it. Plain text has no size control.
